Civic Body Plans to Safeguard Hussainsagar Residents

As the water level in Hussainsagar increased due to heavy rains in the city, on 17 August the GHMC demolished old and dilapidated buildings and asked residents living in areas around the lake to leave their houses to prevent any adverse events. The level of water in Hussainsagar has risen to 513.490 meters above the Full-Tank-Level (FTL) potential of 513.4 meters on 17 August.

The GHMC officials established community halls to accommodate people who stay in Ashok Nagar low-lying areas, the Liberty Circle, Himayatnagar and Domalguda, near Hussainsagar. In the event of an emergency, plans have been made to transfer people into safe areas.
