Government to Initiate Digital Survey for Land Protection

K. Chandrashekar Rao, Chief Minister of Telangana, recently clarified that the 'Dharani' portal was ideal for maintaining land records in the country as a whole. There was little possibility of irregularities or scope for any dispute in the portal.

Records pertaining to a total of 1.53 lakh acres of land were uploaded on the Dharani portal from 2.75 crore acres of documented land in Telangana. The problems with uploading the files were only 3% to 4% of the total number of pattadar passbooks.

The minister briefed that 9 lakh applications for simple sales deeds have been submitted to Dharani Portal. These are to be expedited within 90 days. Guidelines for uploading the NRI lands under GPA and other provisions have been issued.

Furthermore, the digital land survey will be initiated in the coming months to protect every acre of land for which a funding of Rs. 400 crore has been granted in the Budget 2021-22.
