HMWSSB to Take Up Repair Works of Damaged Water & Sewer Lines

To ensure quality water supply and secure the citizens from waterborne diseases Hyderabad water board is taking up water quality tests in the city. 

Water Board to Repair Damaged Water & Sewerages 

The HMWSSB (Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board) is monitoring the water quality after the continuous rains to secure from waterborne diseases. In the last 24 hours, 10,400 drinking water samples were collected by the HMWSSB, and water quality tests were performed.

KT Rama Rao has asked officials to ensure that no drinking water contamination exists. HMWSSB is taking up the work to restore the damaged water and sewer lines at the cost of Rs.1.20 crore.

Homeowners are informed to clear and sanitise all the water with bleaching powder stored in sumps and tanks. In addition, to avoid any waterborne diseases, chlorine tabs were also given as a precautionary measure in drinking water.

The HMWSSB has developed proposals for cleaning and minor repairs to tanks at the cost of Rs.50 lakh. Apart from this, each General Manager approved Rs . 5 lakh to clean up reservoirs within the limits of the Outer Ring Road.
