As per the directions of the Department of Health, Medical, and Family Welfare, the GHMC has declared 63 mini containment areas spread across 30 areas of their six zones.  

The containment zones are spread across areas, such as LB Nagar, Charminar, Khairatabad, Serilingampally, Kukatpally and Secunderabad areas in Hyderabad. 

GHMC Mulls Serological Survey  

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to perform serological surveys at 63 mini containment areas of the city to provide tests and vaccination facilities in order to control the spread of Covid-19.  

The GHMC DRF teams have completed sanitation work in these areas and will continue their training on alternative days. Mini containment zones in areas with a minimum of five positive cases of Covid-19 were declared, according to the officials. In addition to sanitation, the municipal body will conduct a serosurvey in these locations, in coordination with the medical and health departments. 

The survey collects swab samples for the Covid-19 test and vaccinates the people in Covid-19 as necessary. Covid-19 protocols such as the use of facial masks, social distance, and hygiene are closely monitored in these areas.
