Misconceptions About Land Registration Issues are to be Resolved

Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy who announced in the meeting held for the cabinet sub-committee that the State Government is intended to adhere to all the required measures to make the registration process faster and less complicated. It is also willing to dispel the existing misconceptions among people about the same. He said that the government is all set to resolve the teething problems in this regard and improve the effectiveness of the entire process. 

The committee meeting had officials and Ministers such as Prashanth Reddy, KT Rama Rao, Mohd Mahmood Ali, Erabelli Dayakar Rao and Talasani Srinivas Yadav and chief secretary Somesh Kumar. The process of registration was reviewed in this meeting with the top officials and the status of Dharani Portal was also discussed. 

Prashanth Reddy further informed that the Chief Minister and the entire team is committed to seeking suggestions, and objections from all stakeholders and the necessary action will be taken on that basis. Additionally, while taking the required measures to dispel misconceptions and misinformation around sales deeds, the Minister has also suggested that both buyers and sellers are free to begin their documentation and submit it on their own for property registration. For further guidance, a workshop will be conducted with all the luminaries and stakeholders involved at Dr MCR HRD Institute on December 17th. Real estate sector will be further involved alongside other senior officials and three working groups to inspect in the matters of statutory, operational and technical aspects. For the last 100 days, the team has been dedicatedly working towards this objective. 

As directed by the Chief Minister, a special TPIN (Telangana Property Index Number), a unique identification number has been generated and provided to each property to prevent any forgery and tampering of the documents. In order to streamline the entire process, Dharani Portal too has been launched to ensure transparency and simplicity in the process of registration. 

Commencement of Non-farm lands registrations on second day onwards

More than 140 registrations of non-agricultural properties were completed on Monday. However, The first day barely recorded 80+ transactions. These payments have been made for booking slots, acquiring exchequer for INR 43.62 crores. The online slot booking was also carried out through mee-Seva centres. 

Meanwhile, Dharani Portal is all set to launch a new online facility for the conversion of agricultural lands to the non-Agricultural (NALA) purposes on Wednesday.  So far, Dharani has managed to fetch the revenue of INR 87 Crores for the State Government for around 59,294 registrations. Also, about 17,058 applications have been received prior to the launch of Dharani. These applications were received for mutation of agricultural properties and they are most likely to be disposed of Wednesday onwards.
