The Government of Telangana recently announced that registrations of properties during the entire period of lockdown period will remain suspended without exception.
Telangana Suspends Property Registrations
According to the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA), registration of documents and other transactions on Dharani portal requires the participation of at least four or five individuals — such as the purchaser, the seller and two witnesses.
This would cause persons to move and crowd in Mandal offices during restricted hours, which would not be consistent with lock-down restrictions.
The slots would be restructured for citizens who booked a slot on Dharani between 12th and 21st May. The payment of registration fees and duties already imposed on the rescheduled transactions would remain valid and will be adjusted.
