New Features to Make Dharani Portal More People-Friendly

Dharani, the one-stop portal for agriculture land transactions has been improved greatly. The state government has added more features to the online integrated land records management system in order to expand its scope and make it more user-friendly.

Dharani Portal With New Features

Officials stated that several features have been added to the platform on a regular basis since its launch on October 29, 2020, with the most recent additions being features, such as ‘grievances on particular land matters,' ‘cancellation of registration,' ‘application for pending non-agriculture land assessment (NALA), and ‘apply for Pattadar Passbook (PPB) semi-urban land.'

Another new functionality that will be added to the portal soon is an ‘Application for Lease.' After gathering feedback from users, more features will be added to the portal as required.

The portal included 30 main features, ranging from slot booking and registration of agricultural lands to slot rescheduling, the market value of lands for stamp duty and registered document details, just to name a few.

Buyers can use the ‘cancellation of registration' option to reschedule their slot or apply for a refund of their registration fees. After deducting 10% for charges, the District Collector is the competent authority to issue a refund.

People can get a new passbook for lands in city suburbs by using the ‘Apply for PPB-semi urban land' option. The applicant must have a passbook in order to apply for pending NALA on the portal. The applicant would also apply for pending NALA after receiving the new passbook via the portal.

Furthermore, the new passbook will assist the owner with other transactions. The member, however, is ineligible for the Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima schemes. When the ‘grievances on particular land matter' option were launched four days ago, it drew up to 200 applications.

The official informed that they are only considering specific applications and they are working to introduce an ‘application for lease' feature in a fortnight. Following the portal's launch, all transactions involving agricultural lands are now done online.

Through the Dharani portal, the state government hopes to eradicate corruption in the Revenue Department and make the process more transparent.
