State Government Sanctions Over Rs 15,000 Crore for Regional Ring Road

The Hyderabad Regional Ring Road (RRR) is a proposed 330-km road planned to strengthen the existing network between Outer Ring Road and major urban clusters around Hyderabad. As a part of the upcoming state budget, the Telangana government has sanctioned Rs 15,980 crore for the project.

According to state government officials, the budget will be utilized to pay for land acquisition. While the state government has agreed to pay 50 percent of the land acquisition cost, the remaining half will be paid by the Centre.

The project comprises two parts – the northern part for which the estimated cost is around Rs 9,500 crore and the southern part, the cost for which is estimated to be around Rs 6,480. While the Central government has granted in-principle approval for the northern part, the southern part is yet to be approved. Once the project has been completed, it will give a boost to the industries surrounding it, thereby helping the local economy to prosper.

Thanks to the growth of infrastructure, there has been a rapid rise in land prices in Hyderabad in recent years. For all the latest information on real estate, explore Property Adviser.
