Kukatpally to Have Smart Parking to Reduce Traffic Congestion

The volume of vehicular traffic in Hyderabad has increased exponentially in recent years, leading to traffic snarls across the city. In order ease traffic flow and reduce traffic snarls across the city, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has launched a Smart Parking project, which aims to provide ample space for cars, two-wheelers and other vehicles in the city.

Under the project’s pilot, parking space for more than 200 two-wheelers and four tricycles has been earmarked under the Kukatpally flyover near Forum Mall. The estimated cost of the project is around Rs 43 lakh. While most of the work has been completed, the remaining work will be completed within the next 15 days.

DC Ravi Kumar, a GHMC official, told media, “The scarcity of parking space in the city leads to people parking their vehicles on the road, causing traffic snarls. To provide better parking space, the GHMC has launched this project.”

Hyderabad, in recent years, has seen exponential growth in physical and civic infrastructure, making it the top destination for real estate investment in the city.
