Highlights of Proposed Agreement

• The new campus is constructing with an estimated investment of Rs 1,000 crores.
• Currently, Google has a leased office in Kondapur with a total of 7,000 employees.
• The new Google office will be built in the Financial District, Gachibowli and the count of the employee is expected to 13,000 once the construction is finished.
• The building will be constructed in a single block with 22 floors.
• There are three basements used for parking.
• The solar power system will be set up for the building. So, to have this system building needs 300 kilowatts of electricity.

Environment Assessment

• The agreement to build a huge IT campus in Hyderabad was signed between the Government of Telangana and Google in 2015 when IT Minister KTR met Google officials on a visit to the US.
• Under this agreement, the government has allocated 7.2 acres of land area for the construction of the new Google office.
• Google had received approvals from the Telangana State Environment Impact Assessment Authority in October 2018.
• Now Google is expected to start construction of its first company-owned campus in Hyderabad.
• In India, Google has four offices include Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Gurgoan.
• At the time of the agreement, Google had proposed to complete the project in two-and-a-half years.
