Instructions were given to the officials to locate suitable lands in urban areas that would be designed as smart townships. The CM gave the instructions after reviewing the planning of townships and solid waste management at the Tadepalli camp office.

Additionally, the government is also planning to set up outer ring roads in each town and the townships along these roads. It also aims to give a clear title of the property to the beneficiaries. Basic facilities, including electricity, drinking water, drainage and internal roads, would also be made accessible in townships.

Different methods have been listed for purchasing urban land and providing plots on a no-profit-no-loss basis. There is also a focus on ensuring that in these townships, each qualifying family gets a home site. The state plans that the distribution of house sites at nominal cost has to be a regular activity. It has informed officials to take applications from all eligible families.

Officials were instructed to purchase land for each town and establish a land bank. The government objective is to make people acquire at least 25 acres in each town on the lower side and 200 acres on the upper side.

The officials, who gave a presentation on similar schemes in other nations, also suggested the first step is the construction of 18 layouts at 12 towns in the state. During the next 18 months, the CM asked them to plan the layouts and keep the title documents ready.
