Property Tax - GHMC collects Rs 1250 Cr

Rs 1,247.27 crore has been collected so far by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), which has set a goal to raise Rs 1,900 crore in property tax for the current fiscal year. 

By March 31, the balance shall be collected, and officials are assured of achieving the goal. In the previous financial year, the company received Rs 1,472 crore.

Circle-level officers have also been given orders to improve the collection and notices sent to tax defaulters. Apart from that, the redressal of property tax complaints will be carried out on all Sundays from January 24 to March 28 at all circle offices from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. All tax-related issues are discussed, including amended petitions on the valuation of property tax. 

GHMC also collected Rs 275 crore under the One-Time Scheme called on the state government to expand the initiative.
