Cycling Enthusiasts Getting Tracks Across Hyderabad

KBR Park, a favorite place for joggers, is now becoming a hub for cycling enthusiasts, too, as Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) laid cycling tracks around the park. And, similar tracks will soon come up along the corridor 23 and 26 in Jubilee Hills.

Along with the tracks, the civic body is soon going to set up bike stations. And the rider can book a bike through an app and pay nominal charges for the same. According to an official from GHMC, developing the app and executing the project is still being worked out. He also mentioned that enough measures are being taken to inaugurate the project at the earliest.

Few private agencies are being roped into getting the project to a shipshape at a few selected locations across the city. These tracks will not be confined to KBR Park alone, as a similar project will be introduced on Raj Bhavan Road, Necklace Road, and Langar Houz Road (Vasavi College). And, based on the users’ feedback, similar facilities other locations will also have similar facilities.

Some areas of the West Zone had cycle tracks developed by the municipal corporation. But they had to be cleared for various works like pavements, road works, and road widening.
