Sewerage system near GHMC to be under maintenance

The operation and maintenance (O&M) of the sewerage system near the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) areas will be enriched soon.

Ninety-one workers and seventy-five silt garbage vehicles have been authorized by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) for this project. The O&M of the sewerage system in the surrounding areas of the GHMC was undertaken by the HMWS&SB from October 1, 2021.

The HMWS&SB exclaimed that the areas received approximately 6,684 complaints from which, 85 per cent have been settled, and the rest will be remedied by the next month at most.

HMWS&SB Managing Director - Dana Kishore claimed to identify the vulnerable points around the GHMC areas in a meeting. He quoted that the city perimeters have noticed 792 hot spots, and an action plan is being prepared to fix the issue of overflowing sewage.

The narrow pipelines that could not take the load resulting in sewage overflow will be reinstated with the higher capacity ones. This would prevent blockage and improve drainage flow.
