The GHMC’s Directorate of Enforcement, Vigilance & Disaster Management (EVDM), has demolished barricades and unauthorised structures built in Gowthami Nagar Park, Chandanagar.

In order to enable people to file complaints concerning the encroachment of parks at GHMC limits, the EVDM, which has initiated a Parks, Lakes & Layout Open Spaces Protection Cell (Assets Protection Cell), has received a complaint about the invasion of the park at Goutami Nagar Colony, Chandanagar.

After the complaint, the Assistant Enforcement Officer investigated the site, which had an irregular plot of 133 sq.yds., and a park-2 plot of 200 sq.yds. Some unidentified individuals were found to have built barricades and tried to enter the park field.

The  Assets Protection Cell has removed barricades and occupied the park. The EV&DM Directorate stated that they will work on constructing a  compound wall along with a gate at park entrance.
