Hyderabad's civic body assigns TDRs to procure lands 

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation handed out 864 Transfer Development Rights(TDR) certificates aggregately for comeursement in cash to amass 350 acres of land for several road projects. 

GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar surveyed the headway of the acquisition of properties. An official release issued by the GHMC declared noting the increased compensation value that the GHMC instigated TDR Policy amassing the properties with the lowest obligation on the exchequer. Further, the property owners are inclined to sell their land while receiving TDR certificates instead of cash reimbursement. 

The civic body officials exclaimed that a total of 89 roads were undertaken for road widening, 55 roads were constructed and 1,805 properties were acquired in the land obtained over the past five years. 

GHMC obtained 1,282 properties under the missing/slip roads category, and 511 properties under the general road widening category under the SRDP category. 

Properties have been acquired in the major widening/linking roads such as the Bio-Diversity Flyover, Shilparamam RUB, Rajiv Gandhi Flyover, RUB at Hitech City, Underpass at Bairamalguda to Chintalkunta checkpost, and flyovers in diverse areas.
