Water Board to assess contamination in Secunderabad 

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board has formulated recent proposals to remedy the problem of drinking water contamination which has been bothering the inhabitants of five divisions of the Secunderabad constituency over the past 7 years. 100 pipelines are to be replaced with new ones amassing a budget of approximately Rs 10 crore. 

Water contamination has become a major issue due to the weak condition of existing pipelines and the leaking sewerage lines. The Water Board officials claimed to have prepared the plan to replace the pipelines and expressed that tender would be called soon. Meanwhile, the Water Board also claims to have made proposals for laying new pipelines in divisions of Mettuguda and Sitaphalmandi. The Board authorized the instruction of two huge freshwater tanks in T Nagar and arrangement of water pumping equipment to permanently resolve the issue in areas where waterlogging is detected during heavy rains
