Crackdown on illegal constructions in HMDA limits

Hyderabad’s unsold housing stock reduces in 2021

A special drive has been inaugurated to tear down unauthorized constructions in the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority limits. The drive commenced and 10 buildings were demolished on the very first day itself, giving the project the head start it required. 

An HMDA official stated in a press release that the special demolition drive will continue in the coming days. It also came to notice that the upcoming drives will be aided by the District Task Forces (DTFs) along with the Police department. 

District Task Forces were composed as a part of Telangana State Building Permission Approval and Self-Certification (TS-bPASS) implementation. 

Former to the drive being augmented, Arvind Kumar, the Metropolitan Commissioner of Telangana had constituted four teams for a ground survey. This survey's objective was to sight and deal with unauthorized constructions going on in the city, and rule out as many immoral activities as they possibly could. Based on the report which was received, the District Task Forces would take viable actions and demolish the buildings.  

HMDA asserted in a press release that in the initial stages, the unauthorized constructions which were spread over 600 square yards would be demolished until furthermore rules and regulations are established.
