HMDA continues demolition drive against unauthorised structures

A special demolition drive was taken up by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA). HMDA metropolitan commissioner and special chief secretary Arvind Kumar said to recognize and take action against any illegal and unauthorized constructions and structures being found in its jurisdiction. 

Several unauthorized constructions found in various parts of the city like Medchal, Shankarpally, Shamshabad, and Ghatkesar have been demolished to date. 

As part of this special drive, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), along with Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) of both the Commissioner and the Director of Municipal Administration (CDMA) and District Task Forces (DTFs ) collectively demolished a few unauthorized structures which were identified in some parts of the city. These structures counted to six and were demolished.

The constructions which were identified as unauthorized in the Nizampet Municipal Corporation and the Sangareddy Municipality had been destroyed.  

This special drive came into action on the 17th of January and since then, serious actions are being taken continually. A total of 107 structures have been identified as unauthorized and among these, 84 properties have been demolished and 23 properties have been sealed by the authorities with special permissions.
