An unusual and assisted elimination has been undertaken by the State government against constructions that are developing without mandatory government approvals.

Special teams were created by the administration to identify unauthorized constructions, followed by demolition drives. 100 such buildings in HMDA limits were reprimanded in the last few days from which 77 were demolished and 23 were sealed by the officials.

With HMDA, demolition drives have comprised Urban Local Bodies of Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration and District Task Forces (DTFs). The DTF was composed as part of Telangana State Building Permission Approval and Self-Certification (TS-bPASS).

Metropolitan Commissioner, Arvind Kumar, before the drive began, formed four teams to scrutinize and recognize illegal constructions, then take essential actions.

The officials were authorized to charge lands of more than 500 square yards based on the Telangana Municipalities Act, 2019.

DTFs work under the District Collector's chairmanship and they analyze, recognize and take action against unauthorized layouts and constructions.

The DTFs will deviate categories into two i.e less than and more than 10 percent deviation.

Steps like cancellation of building permission, imposing penalties, three years imprisonment, and demolition could be taken respecting the deviation.
