Hyderabad sees biggest rise in launch of apartments

JLL's Residential Market Update for Q4 2021 (October-December 2021) asserted that Hyderabad persists in its growth speed of the residential real estate segment. In terms of new project launches in 2021, Hyderabad peaked with a 26.1 percent rise, followed by Pune (17.6), Bengaluru (16.4), and Mumbai with a 16.1 percent improvement. 

The analysis obtained data from Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune considering apartments, excluding row houses, villas, and plotted developments. The data implied that residential sales have nearly leveled the pre-Covid tiers in Hyderabad. 

The report said 15,805 units were sold in 2019, 9,926 in 2020 because of Covid-19, and 15,787 in 2021. 

It states "Improving market sentiment on the back of a recovery in the economy has instilled confidence amongst developers as they strategically launched projects across cities to tap into the demand recovery underway." 

The top seven cities saw the inauguration of 45,383 apartment units in Q4 2021, an improvement of 38 percent. Ample launches were seen in Pune followed by Bengaluru and Hyderabad. 

It also indicated that the residential sector experienced a sales rise of 72 percent at 1.28 lakh units sold.
