Hyderabad Likely To Get India’s Longest Tunnel Road Soon

Hyderabad will probably have India’s longest tunnel road connecting Jubilee Hills Road number 45 and Banjara Hills road number 12 very soon.

The GHMC will be undertaking the construction of the proposed four-lane tunnel road encircling KBR Park junction to NFCL Junction, Punjagutta. The civic body will start a promising survey for this project soon in the coming days.

The Telangana government is contemplating the concept of building a tunnel road that could prevent the falling of trees at the KBR park for the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP).

It is believed that the government planned to start an SRDP project at the park which imposed cutting 1,500 trees.

As part of the SRDP, several works have been developed at many locations such as the flyover on Road No. 45, Mindspace Junction, Biodiversity Junction including the cable-stayed bridge at Durgam Cheruvu.

However, even finishing the SRDP flyovers and the cable-stayed bridge has brought insufficient relaxation from daily traffic issues at different junctions on these road links from Punjagutta and Banjara Hills Road No 12.

As of now, the 9.5 kilometers long Shyama Prasad Mukherjee tunnel connecting Kashmir to the rest of the country is India’s longest tunnel road.
