Nagole flyover to be ready by July

Troublesome traffic jams on the Uppal-LB Nagar road are anticipated to end by this July with the GHMC building a six-lane bi-directional, 990 meters long, and 24 meters wide flyover at Nagole costing approximately ₹67.97 crores, being built under the Strategic Road Development Plan.

The traffic will flow much more smoothly once the facility is opened to the public.

To date, 50 percent of the flyover works have been done and all 23 foundations and piers have been established.

According to GHMC records, the project benefits commuters with a smooth commute, considerable savings of traveling time, improved safety and level of service, and reduced pollution.

LB Nagar has evolved into a busy locality over the years, hence, the traffic has increased. It is also one of the crucial entry and exit junctures for people traveling to and fro to Vijayawada with the LB Nagar Junction and connecting roads observing heavy traffic.

14 SRDP projects at an approximate cost of Rs.448 crore were proposed, including the Chintalkunta Checkpost junction underpass, LB Nagar Right Hand Side underpass that is open to people. Others are Kamineni Left Hand Side Flyover, LB Nagar LHS Flyover, Kamineni RHS flyover, and Bairamalguda RHS flyover.
