The Town Planning branch of the GHMC reported a 73% increase in its revenue in 2022 compared to 2021 with total revenue in 2022 as ₹1,144.08 crores, and ₹661 crores in 2020-2021.

In 2022, the corporation allocated 17,572 building permissions and 1,550 Occupancy Certificates (OCs) to 11,538 building permissions and 1,574 OCs in 2020-21.

Meanwhile, the GHMC credited the increase in the construction activity to the State government policies and their performance under the advice of MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao in a press release.

Infrastructure development prevailing and the availability of amenities led to the growth of realty.

The corporation believes that the construction of flyovers, development of link roads, provision of clean drinking water, perpetual power supply, and maintenance of law & order captivated new commercial and residential projects to Hyderabad.

Officials stated that introducing TS-bPASS by the State government has assured problem-free building permission, improving application count and their disposal.

The State government gave an installment facility for paying building permit fees to remedy the losses faced by several sectors.

The other factors like the shortage of construction labor during and after the lockdown also pretentiously affected construction activities during 2020-21.
