The Revocation Of GO 111 Will Strengthen The Real Estate Market

The real estate sector is very optimistic about the development of Go111 announced by K Chandra Shekhar Rao, Chief Minister of Telangana.

Reports have shown that GO111 was handed out in 1996 during the erstwhile state of Andhra Pradesh to avoid excessive industrialization and huge construction activities.

The Chief Minister stated, regarding revoking GO111, which has now become redundant, that it was issued to conserve the two lakes which were the main source of drinking water to the Greater Hyderabad region.

GO111 influences 83-plus villages and covers over 1.32 lakh acres if held up.

C Shekar Reddy, Past National President, CREDAI, said that revoking GO111 will increase land availability, stabilize prices, grow demand, and increase supply, benefitting the clients and landowners.

Kalisetti Naidu, CEO, Yards & Feet Property Consultants said “People who have bought agricultural lands that fall under GO111 are going to benefit the most post its abrogation. Developers will emphasize more on constructing high rises compared with villas."

However, realty experts speculate that if GO111 is repealed, the government will have to counteract development and ecological protection.

The government must also prepare developers with special guidelines of constructions authorized in those zones to restrict disrupting the river flow.
