Bahadurpura Flyover To Be Ready By March 31

A six-lane bi-directional flyover at Bahadurpura is progressing fast and is expected to ease traffic jams distressing the Old City.

GHMC officials said that the construction of the flyover is in its final stage and authorities aim to finish it by March 31.

The Bahadurpura flyover is a part of the SRDP project, being built by the GHMC at an approximate cost of Rs 69 crore. It is 690-meter long, providing relaxation to commuters traveling in several directions via the busy Bahadurpura junction, said Dattu Panth, GHMC Superintending Engineer, Projects Wing.

Officials stated “On the Bahadurpura road, many travel/tourist buses and heavy vehicles including lorries are parked. Apart from this, the area has developed over the last few years increasing the traffic and footfall in the region. This flyover will ensure smooth travel, reduced commute time, and decrease pollution."

45 properties were obtained to assemble this project and Telangana State Southern Power Distribution utilities had to be moved. Meanwhile, to enhance the flyover, plans are progressing to expand greenery in and around it.

Another flyover stretching over 4.048 kilometers on the Aramghar to Nehru Zoological Park stretch is under construction which will be the second-longest flyover in Hyderabad.
