GHMC Upgrades QR Coding For Building Permissions

QR codes on building permission letters by GHMC have eased the bank loan process for home aspirants.

QR coding of permissions, non-existent in the earlier online DPMS was introduced in the recently enforced TSbPASS to exclude forgeries and irregularities.

Under the TSbPASS, self-certification is allowed for individual plots of 75-600 square yards, and registration is required only for plots less than 75 square yards.

Once building details are entered by the homeowners, the system automatically generates the building permission order, which is imprinted with a QR code.

Chief City Planner, S.Devender Reddy said that mobile QR codes will fetch permission letters, simplifying the bank's verification process to issue loans, helping homeowners.

Besides having QR codes for permissions, the system now shows the status of the permission issued post verification too.

“We issue a commencement certificate if satisfied with all the parameters post verification of the plot on the ground within 15 days after issue of building permission letter. By scanning the QR code after a fortnight, the banker may also know the status of commencement certification,” Mr. Devender Reddy said.

GHMC received 2,547 instant registrations and 11,221 self-certifications since November 2021 when the TSbPASS came into force.
