Hyderabad's Skyline is Being Changed By High Rises

Numerous high-rises are emerging within GHMC limits. 83 high-rise structures have received building permissions in 2020-2021.

These projects include 13 skyscrapers with over 30 floors, making Hyderabad the best for such projects.

The GHMC approved constructing a 41-storied building in Khanamet named Kohinoor by Aurobindo Realty by Aurobindo Realty & Infrastructure Pvt Ltd.

Kohinoor is the second-largest building in the GHMC limits and the first one is seemingly the Olympus.

A Municipal Administration & Urban Development (MA&UD) official stated that high-rise buildings ranging from 45-55 floors were denied permission within the GHMC limits.

He said, “Traffic assessment is our utmost priority following which permissions for some projects have been put on hold."

Hyderabad has the highest share of high-rises amongst all the new launches in the Southern cities with almost 41% growth in 2021. Two malls with multiplexes were also authorized by the GHMC in 2020-21.

GHMC officials associated the massive growth with State government policies and their implementation under the guidance of MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao.

He said many infrastructure developments, maintenance of law & order, and the introduction of the Telangana State Building Permission Approval and Self-Certification System (TS-bPASS) are alluring new commercial and residential projects in Hyderabad.
